Then end of one year and the start of a new one......or is it?

Well, this one will either make you think I am nuts, out there or maybe I am smart, you can decide.  :-)

Yesterday I was able to sit down and watch a little TV.  I had on the Science Channel, a great channel in my mind, not so much on Kristen's.  They were running some old shows on The Universe and the one I was able to watch was on The Planets.  When I thought about it, I thought it was fitting for an end of the year show.

I have had this theory, and it goes against all scientific thought, I do not agree with the Big Bang.  I also do not agree that everything in the universe was all just there, but maybe something in the middle.  I can't get the idea to work in my head that one day some billions and billions of years ago, the big bang happened and nothing happened before it, NOTHING!  How long did things stay that way before it started? What caused the big bang to happen? Why did it happen at that time and not before or after?  If the big bang was the beginning of everything, how could it have started?

Now I am sure you are thinking how does this connect with the new year and the show I was watching.  On the show, it reminding me that every planet, whether it is a gas or rock planet is a sphere (round, circle, etc).
A sphere has no beginning or end.  So with that, maybe the big bang was just a very large supernova and there was another supernova that caused it to happen, on the same scale.  Universes are huge, larger then we can imagine.  What if there was something bigger?  At one time, the earth was thought to be flat, the center of our solar system.  Why could we not be wrong here, again?  Isn't this part of learning and growing as a species?

We know so little about our planet and the universe, but the great thing is we learn every day.  Keep in mind time is a unit of measure that we, as humans, invented that works well on earth, it is flawed.  If it wasn't, then why do we have leap year and months that have more days then others?  Time is what we all get hung up on. Think about a day without worrying about time...is it relaxing or stressful?

So the calendar is getting reset and the year is getting added by 1.  A celebration to be had and I am all for a it, a great excuse to enjoy a beer. Yes it always comes back to beer! :-)

Just what I thought....

Well, just what I thought would happen, has happened.  I thought I had so much to write about, but now I can't come up with a single thing.

Well, I guess I could talk about my quest to make and have Ancient Egyptian Beer, like what was made when they built the Pyramids.  Stay with me on this one.  It has been studied that Ancient Egyptians had brewed beer with an unknown side effect.  It had Antibiotics, but they didn't know it, no one knew it or what it was at that time. It would have 1000's of years before they were discovered. Think of where the world would be if they did understand it.

Squirrel: Check out "How beer saved the world" that the Discovery Channel made.  Google it, I think it is on youtube. It will tell you all about how beer did great things in history for the world.

To think if you started to feel ill, you could just drink a beer, who needs to go to the doctor.  :-)  (Well you should go and see a doctor)

So I have been looking for the recipe to make Egyptian beer, and I haven't had much luck.  I do recall seeing a show on the Discovery Channel where a University in California (I think) actually made it, but I can't find which one or how they did it.  I am surprised none of the brewers in the world haven't really tried to do this (except for Dogfish Head, they tried some of the ancient beers  and they were good.).  What a market you could have, but then again, some lawyer would sue and it would be a mess, so maybe that is why it isn't being done.  So, lets just leave this to the craft-brewers to find the recipe, share and enjoy.

So my quest is on to find the recipe to make the Ancient Egyptian beer.  I guess we all need a quest in life, this is just one of the many I have!  As the saying goes, "relax and have a homebrew!"
